This book has been prepared in order to determine how the long wars fought between 1683-1718 affected the Ottoman Empire socially and economically in different regions of Anatolia such as Ayntab, Kayseri, Manisa and Trabzon. Throughout the book, a panorama of the impact of different events on Anatolian cities is presented, including the simultaneous outbreak of violence in many parts of the state and the ensuing financial crisis, the new financial burdens and social regulations adopted to end the depression period.

This book is a product of the knowledge accumulated by Prof. Dr. Orhan Kılıç, who is one of the first academicians to work on this subject in Turkey, for nearly twenty years. The epidemics, which are handled on the scale of the world and the Ottoman country in particular, are evaluated in all aspects of political, military, geographical, demographic, religious, literary, cultural and social aspects. This study, which looks at history from the window of epidemics, aims to enable the reader to evaluate historical events from a different perspective.

This work titled  Mikrop, Salgın ve Toplum received the Halil İnalcık Special Award in Social Sciences in 2022.

The book, which was prepared in two volumes, consists of six chapters: The Ottoman State's Provincial/Districts and Organisation, Anatolia, Central and Eastern Europe, the Caucasus and Azerbaijan, the Middle East and North Africa, the Mediterranean and the Sea of Islands. In these chapters, there are articles on how the Ottoman administrative division was shaped and who were the administrators.

 This work, titled  Osmanlı Taşrasının İdari Taksimatı ve Yöneticileri, received the 2022 TÜBA-TESEP Social Sciences Halil İnalcık Special Prize.
