Undergraduate

In order to enroll in the History Undergraduate programme, it is necessary to have a high school diploma or an equivalent diploma from abroad and to have a sufficient score from the relevant field type in the Student Selection and Placement Centre YKS exam. Students who successfully complete four years of undergraduate education are entitled to receive the Bachelor's degree in History.

Founded in 1980 within the Faculty of Literature, the Department of History was incorporated into the Faculty of Arts and Sciences in 1982. The Department of History, which had a shortage of faculty members in the years of its establishment, started to enrich over time. There are currently 28 faculty members and assistants in our department. The department gave its first graduates in 1984 and provided formal education until 1996. From this date onwards, second education was also started. Approximately 3000 graduates have been graduated and these graduates are serving in many fields today. In this way, the contribution of our department to the history of our country cannot be underestimated.

Since 1982, Master's and Doctorate education has also been given in our department. While doctoral education is authorised from most universities with some regulations in universities, postgraduate education continues uninterruptedly in our department. Many students have graduated until today. As a natural consequence of this, today it is possible to find a faculty member who has completed his/her doctorate in Euphrates History in almost all our universities. In this way, Fırat University History Department has gained a well-deserved reputation and established its own school.
